Learn More About Dr. Nelson

Raised in New York, Dr. Nelson came to Kentucky in 1975 to study Microbiology at the University of Kentucky, in Lexington, where he met his wife Donna. They now have two children and two grandchildren. When he can, he enjoys scuba diving.

While he considers himself a clinician, he has lectured at the DMD, graduate and postgraduate levels and performed some unpublished research in the areas of prostaglandins and laser tissue welding. He was among the first in this state to employ guided tissue regeneration techniques - now considered a staple practice in periodontics. Today, he is even more excited to offer precise, minimally invasive LANAP(r) surgery.
